Nicholas and Thea 8.21.2010

If there is one word to describe Nicholas and Thea's wedding, then it's definitely "FUN!" These two clearly had a great time putting together the unique details of their wedding, right down to "FOREVER" All Stars. I loved the vibrant green everywhere, and, as always, I loved getting to work with the fabulous staff at Prince Michel and the amazing chefs with Harvest Moon.

Joshua and Isaiah

While I was still in college, I started doing autism therapy for a family in our church. At the time, the boys were 1 and 3. Now, they're 8 and 10!!! For the years that I was working with this family, I would be with the kids sometimes for as many as 70 hours a week; later, I would keep them for one or two weeks while their parents did autism conferences across the country. Needless to say, I was pretty sad when this family moved away from Charlottesville, but I do my best do go visit them whenever I can. Here are some photos from a recent visit!

I love this next one, as it shows a bit of Joshua's melodramatic nature while also representing what I imagine the experience of being autistic must feel like - interested but inhibited.

Alyssa & James - 7.30.2010

Alyssa and James joined their lives in a beautiful ceremony at Prince Michel Winery in the wine cellar. Those of you who follow my blog know that I am occasionally guilty of teary up during the ceremonies of my client, and this wedding was no exception. The communion time wherein everyone in attendance was invited to receive communion or a blessing from the pastor was particularly moving to me. What a great way to start your life together, Alyssa and James!

Despite a little rain during all (yes, all) of the post-ceremony portraits and some downpours during the reception, everyone had a great time at their wedding. I'm so glad that I was able to share in your happy day!
