When Danielle and Ben discovered this drastic kink in their carefully planned day, they did not do what some might have done. They didn't postpone. They didn't freak out (too much). They decided that, since what they really wanted to do was get married, their day could go on. As Danielle said to me, "I realized that we could get married in a parking lot. I just want to be married!" A concerned employee of their hotel suggested their sister hotel, the Cavalier Inn, as a possibility. When they found out it was available, the plan was settled!
The groomsmen decorated the reception and made a trip to the liquor store. The ladies' hairdresser's husband figured out a catering plan for 85 people in under 6 hours. And the wedding was on!
What I really want you to notice as you look through these photos are the smiles on everyone's faces. I was so impressed with the way that everyone prioritized the real meaning of the day over the picture perfect details. The way that Danielle and Ben cared for each other on this day is definitive of why I love my job! Enjoy :)
The unofficial bartender
Never seen a bride this excited about her wedding gift from her hubby-to-be!
Good job, hubby!
He liked his gift, too! A surprise limo for the end of the night ;)
You can't leave out the puppy!
One of the groomsmen was very proud of his ceremony decorating!
Despite the groomsmen's protest (it was 100+ outside), we walked a couple of block to do the portrait session on the grounds at UVa.
Worth it!
It's too hot!
Yes, the bridal party had a choreographed dance!
Limo!
